Who runs the guide

The Coulee Region Parks Guide is a private project owned and operated by Baumbach Solutions. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government or municipal entity. Baumbach Solutions is solely responsible for this website and its content.

For questions about your information, contact Baumbach Solutions through the guide. Please do not include passwords, sign-in links, or other sensitive documents in your message.

Information you share

• Park Passport: your first and last name, email address, optional phone number, account dates, and sign-in activity. We use these to create and manage your account. We store protected versions of sign-in and session tokens, not a password.
• Your park lists: the parks you save or mark visited, with the dates those records were added. These lists are linked to your account and are not displayed as a public profile.
• Photos: the processed image, original filename, park, optional note, review information, and permission choices. We resize images and remove embedded location metadata before review. Sharing a photo also marks its park as visited in your Passport.
• Park updates and playdates: the park features or notes you report, the time you choose for a community playdate, and associated dates. These records are linked to your account.
• Messages: the name, email, topic, and message you send through Contact. We use these to handle your request and reply.

What becomes public

Approved photos and their notes can appear in the guide. The gallery does not add your account name or email to a photo. Images and notes can still identify people through what they show or say, so check them before sharing.

Park features reported by visitors appear as community information and counts, rather than a list of reporters. Freeform park-update notes go to the operator for review. Community playdates show combined interest counts; your account name and your family's individual choice are not listed publicly.

Photo sharing on our social pages is a separate, optional permission. If you give it, approved images and notes may be published there. Park updates and combined playdate interest can also inform social posts without naming individual participants.

Use your own account to arrange family outings. Avoid including children's names, contact details, close-up faces, readable license plates, or private information about other people in contributions. Contact us if something in the guide needs to be removed.

Services used to run the guide

Baumbach Solutions uses hosting, email, account-administration, photo-review, and social-publishing services to operate the guide.

• Account administration: Baumbach Monitor receives account identifiers, names, email, optional phone, account status and activity dates, and counts of visits and photo submissions. That report does not include your individual park list, photo files, or sign-in tokens.
• Email and photo review: sign-in messages are sent to your email address. Contact messages and park updates are delivered to Baumbach Solutions. Photo review uses Mia and its connected review process, including Telegram; review notices include the park, contribution reference, and photo note.
• Social publishing: Baumbach Social and the destination platform receive material selected for publication, including photos for which social permission was recorded. A platform may keep its own copies and records.

These services and their stored copies are part of reviewing an account-deletion request. Removing a record from the guide's database alone does not remove it everywhere.

Your browser and location

Staying signed in. A session cookie can keep this browser signed in for up to 180 days. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes. You can sign out from Passport. Your preferred directions app is also remembered in this browser.

Finding a nearby park. Your browser asks for location permission when you use the nearby-park tool. Distance matching happens on your device. A recorded visit sends the selected park, not your exact device coordinates, to the guide.

Maps and weather. OpenStreetMap receives map-tile requests for the area you view. Directions open the map service you choose. The weather service uses a fixed La Crosse location. These providers receive normal connection information, such as an IP address, when your browser contacts them. Their own privacy practices apply.

Site usage. Analytics hosted by Baumbach Solutions measures page use and actions such as adding a visit or submitting a photo. Those action messages do not include the contact details or text you type into forms. The tracker is configured to respect your browser's Do Not Track setting and exclude URL search parameters and fragments. Hosting and service logs may also contain connection and request information.

Keeping and removing information

Account information and contributions are kept to provide your Passport, maintain the guide, review submissions, and record permissions. They do not all have an automatic deletion date. Email, reporting systems, permission records, logs, and backups can have separate retention needs.

You can remove saved parks and mistaken visits from Passport. For a photo, correction, or other privacy concern, send a privacy request. If you can no longer access your account email, contact us so we can discuss how to verify the request.

We will explain the outcome, including records that need to be retained. We cannot recall copies other people have downloaded or control every browser cache or external platform. Published photos can remain in those places after they are removed from the guide.
